We have to be very careful here, as we can easily slip into a
situation where the meaning of one feature depends on the value of
another.  One of the architectural decisions made early on was to
avoid that in both the assignment of units and in dependent features.
If we go forward with the idea of "color" and "opacity" as features,
in other words, they need to mean the same thing whenever they occur.
That doesn't mean they have to be sensible everywhere (there need not
be opaque sounds), but we can't have "color" mean rgb color in one
context and cmyk color in another.  Broadening the attributes to
be useful in multiple contexts is fine, but not when those contexts
imply differences in interpretation of the attributes.
