Hi all, Please find below the announcement for a new version of the MIDCOM-type protocol called SIMCO (SImple Middlebox COnfiguration) Protocol. This protocol implements all semantics defined in draft-ietf-midcom-semantics-07.txt in a binary encoding. Regards, Martin ------------ Forwarded Message ------------ Date: Montag, 5. April 2004 10:41 Uhr -0400 From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: I-D ACTION:draft-stiemerling-midcom-simco-05.txt A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories. Title : Simple Middlebox Configuration (SIMCO) Protocol Version 3.0 Author(s) : M. Stiemerling, et al. Filename : draft-stiemerling-midcom-simco-05.txt Pages : 62 Date : 2004-4-2 This document describes a protocol for controlling middleboxes such as firewalls and network address translators. It is a fully compliant implementation of the MIDCOM semantics described in [RFCXXXX]. Compared to earlier experimental versions of the SIMCO protocol, this version 3 uses binary message encodings in order to reduce resource requirements. Login with the username "anonymous" and a password of your e-mail address. After logging in, type "cd internet-drafts" and then "get draft-stiemerling-midcom-simco-05.txt". A list of Internet-Drafts directories can be found in http://www.ietf.org/shadow.html or ftp://ftp.ietf.org/ietf/1shadow-sites.txt Internet-Drafts can also be obtained by e-mail. Send a message to: [email protected]. In the body type: "FILE /internet-drafts/draft-stiemerling-midcom-simco-05.txt". NOTE: The mail server at ietf.org can return the document in MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE" command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with "multipart" MIME messages (i.e. documents which have been split up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on how to manipulate these messages. Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version of the Internet-Draft. ---------- End Forwarded Message ----------
