Instant Messaging type submit

Hello,

Each day, more than a billion of instant message are sent.  It is more than
mails and it grows very fast.  I think this new medium needs a new type
inside vCard.  It is the reason why I submit this to all of you, to get your
point of view.

IM Type Definition

To: [email protected]

Subject: Registration of text/directory MIME type IM

Type name: IM

Type purpose: To specify the instant messaging identifier for
communication with the object the vCard represents.

Type encoding: 8bit

Type value: A single text value.

Type special notes: The type MUST include the type parameter "TYPE" to
specify the kind or preference of the IM address. The TYPE parameter values
can include: "ICQ", "AIM", "YAHOOMESSENGER", "MSMESSENGER", "FTMESSAGER",
"ODIGO", "POWWOW" or "PREF" to indicate a preferred-use IM ID when more than
one is specified. Another IANA registered IM type can also be specified. The
is no default IM. A non-standard value can also be specified.

Type example:

IM;TYPE=ICQ:2288941

IM;TYPE=YAHOOMESSAGER:LUCPUGEAT

IM;TYPE=ICQ,PREF:2288941
