I hate to inject reality, but I think Erik is correct. Thousands of applications
believe that an address is an address is an address, and only see addresses
via the socket API. We have to accept that.

The good news about porting apps to IPv6 is that it is easy, if a little
boring, since no redesign is needed. Multi6 won't get deployed if it
breaks that property.
