Yes, in that sense it's "internal" from your POV.

It's a bit like Euclidian geometry (maybe s/Euclid/Postel/)
- and the bounces-to universe is the non-Euclidian geometry.

You can't say that non-Euclidian geometry is "wrong".  It's
perfect, parallel lines cross each other, MAIL FROM actually
means BOUNCES TO, the sum of degrees in a triangle isn't 180,
and the responsible party is not the Return-Path, but hey,
how about fixing it with a PRA ?
