[openpgp] Re: encrypting textual data with sop [was: Re : text vs. binary in an OpenPGP "Signed Message" ]

Hi dkg,

I didn't mean to say that SOP in general doesn't support it, nor that
gpgme-sop doesn't support creating text signatures inside encrypted data;
rather I meant that gpgme-sop doesn't seem to support reading them.

I know that this sounds very weird and I also don't know how this can be
true, but it was my observation from the test results that not only a
text signature over binary data is rejected, _but a text signature over
text data as well_ [1].

Perhaps my interpretation of the test results is wrong and it could be
that gpgme-sop is rejecting the message for another reason, e.g. due to
it containing a lone \n. But in any case my main point was that it's
hard to understand what gpg's behavior is from the test results since
all test cases with text signatures in that test fail. Though, we could
add more test cases and/or generally investigate more, of course.
