I've mainly gotten nit-picks about this (thanks to those who've given
public and private feedback!), but i don't think i've heard anyone
complain that "sopv validate-userid" is a particularly outrageous or
problematic idea.
So i'll probably push out a new draft later this week. Now's a good
time to speak up if you are concerned!
