Hiya, I think dkg asked a chair-like question on this: my answer for now is I reckon we could take this on if we had rough consensus in the WG but we'd have to (at least) co-ordinate with some other WGs before deciding to go ahead and do that IMO. I don't think we're quite at the point yet where we want to reach out and check if us taking this on would step on any other IETF toes. Formally, our charter [1] probably would require us to do a poll about whether to add this to the charter or not, so we'd be doing an envisaged re-charter if the WG want to take this on. And that's ok, because we explicitly wrote the charter so that such things would be a required, but not too-onerous, process-step. One specific (technical, not IETF politics) question I'd have about the basic idea is: how does this compare with DKIM and esp. the proposed DKIM2 work? The goals of DKIM and this are qiute different, but the mechanisms overlap a *lot* and might even interfere with one another, so I think that's one where we would need an answer. Cheers, S.
