Paul Wouters has entered the following ballot position for draft-ietf-pim-zeroconf-mcast-addr-alloc-ps-08: No Objection When responding, please keep the subject line intact and reply to all email addresses included in the To and CC lines. (Feel free to cut this introductory paragraph, however.) Please refer to https://www.ietf.org/about/groups/iesg/statements/handling-ballot-positions/ for more information about how to handle DISCUSS and COMMENT positions. The document, along with other ballot positions, can be found here: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-pim-zeroconf-mcast-addr-alloc-ps/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- COMMENT: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I agree with Joe's SecDir review that the document is a bit light on the Security Considerations. It addresses key challenges, such as link-layer address collisions, hardware limitations, multicast snooping inefficiencies, and the need to avoid manual configuration. I find it does not really "address" it, but merely "state" it. I wouldn't feel it wrong to leave this document as a draft for other developers to look at while designing solutions specified in other documents. _______________________________________________ pim mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
