I am doing my PG from Indian Institute of
Sciences(IISc),Bangalore,India.

My question is whether it is possible to surf the net
& simultaneously receive calls fom PSTN.This is
possible using DSL & ISDN. But can we acheive this on
POTS.

Right now we have an application where an internet
user is prompted of an incoming call. But i am thinking
of taking this application a little further by
allowing the user to receive the incoming call using a
mic & a speaker( Headset) same as voice chat, without
disconnecting the net.

Thus the calling party will be speaking through the
normal PSTN phone & the called party(internet
user)will talk on the mic.It will require VoIP &
certain IP-PSTN media gateways.

can you comment on the feasibility of this project.

I will be glad if u can guide me in this regard
