Key there is that they used NeuStar's catch-all extension for arbitrary
key-value pairs. Frankly, when that thing gets involved, *all* bets are off.

Yep, and it happened again with the .tel landrush to a certain degree, but the
underlying semantics of the EPP envelope and the domain mapping themselves
remained the same.
