Hi Greg, RFC9326 has well-defined header format of IOAM DEX. What you described in the draft cannot be called IOAM DEX because it changes the format in a significant way. Please consider to change the name to avoid further confusion. Thanks! Best regards, Haoyu From: mpls <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Greg Mirsky Sent: Thursday, February 23, 2023 5:25 PM To: mpls <[email protected]>; [email protected]; DetNet WG <[email protected]> Subject: [mpls] Fwd: New Version Notification for draft-mb-mpls-ioam-dex-02.txt Dear All, we are glad to welcome Tony joining this work as a co-author. Updates align our proposal to support IOAM-DEX using MNA ISD (IOAM-DEX-MNA) using mechanisms defined in draft-jags. The updated document presents examples of IOAM-DEX-MNA signaled as a new option and NAI. Your comments, questions, and suggestions are most welcome and greatly appreciated. IOAM Direct Export (IOAM-DEX) is one of the IOAM Option types, in which the operational state and telemetry information are collected according to the specified profile and exported in a manner and format defined by a local policy. MPLS Network Actions (MNA) techniques are meant to indicate actions to be performed on any combination of Label Switched Paths (LSPs), MPLS packets, and the node itself, and also to transfer data needed for these actions. This document explores the on-path operational state, and telemetry information can be collected using IOAM-DEX Option in combination with MNA.
