RMT attendees may recall we have talked at couple of
meetings about shared interest in Overlay Multicast (OMcast,
also called End Host Multicast). My lab has been active in
this area recently and I would like to generate interest
in a working group like RMT that would consider what
aspects of OMcast might make sense for standardization.
The techniques involved are useful anywhere a community
of peers wants to self-organize for group communications
that are not available locally as Internet support.

There is a new IETF mailing list for discussions that
might lead to a BOF for OMcast. The mail list is
[email protected]. To sign up visit
https://www1.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/omcast

Please join the new list if you're interested. Also
please pass this along to others who might be interested.

If you join, please send to the list a brief description
of why you're interested, to get discussion going. If
there are enough participants, we'll try for a BOF at
an upcoming IETF meeting.
