Citations needed. Which previous document supposedly had this list? What
goal was this list supposedly a distraction from? Was this the same as
the "history" goal in the current draft? What's the URL for the
discussion supposedly establishing that "most people" thought the list
was a distraction?

Please get into the habit of providing URLs to back up your claims,
rather than putting extra load on readers.
