I've talked to IMC's lawyers, and they said that the SFL is "clearly export
controlled even without the crypto libraries themselves." The US has been
consistent in their stance on "crypto with a hole", and it has hurt many of
IMC's members.

I do not believe that there is any hope of the SFL being distributed until
the US changes its laws or the current administration changes its mind.
Either way, it is extremely unlikely, given that much more powerful (read:
monied) companies have been lobbying hard for years on this. Neither
Congress nor the President have shown any big interest in changing the
current situation.

And, I assure you, this mailing list won't make a dent; let's not waste the
bandwidth.
