That does not say why AS-SG-AS model (with SG as STP in the middle)
cannot work for you.  There is no need to extend the IPSP model do you
what you need to simply reduce SCTP/M3UA information.   So, make your
STPs also SGs and have them serve point codes out to each MSC, HLR, SCP,
SMSC, etc. as ASPs served by the SGs.  Then the MSC, HLR, SCP, SCMS,
etc. only need to known the STP SCTP/M3UA information, but can
communicate with any SS7 signalling point via the SGs.  The IPSP model
does not need to be extended to do this.
