Hello Lukas,
ASP Identifier is a local value, and it has no relationship between
ASP and SGP.
In RFC 4666(M3UA) page 50, it says:
ASP Identifier: 32-bit unsigned integer
The optional ASP Identifier parameter contains a unique value that
is locally significant among the ASPs that support an AS. The SGP
should save the ASP Identifier to be used, if necessary, with the Notify
message.
Best regards,
Zhou Minggang

Subject: [Sigtran] ASP Identifier
Hi Sigtran experts
Anybody helps needed in ASP identifier usage.
If traffic should be sent from an HSS via STP/SG to an SCP (all of them
SIGTRAN / M3UA based) do I have to set ASP identifier on HSS to the same
value as on SCP or do I need to use unique values in HSS and SCP? Are
there any more explanation to use it then in RFCs? Any help welcome.
Thanks
Lukas
