That's a sensible arrangement. I suppose the wlan and 3g interfaces have 
different IP addresses, and so you have a separate contact for each? So 
you register two contacts to the same AOR via the same proxy, right?

In that case the choice of one instance id or two is a value judgment on 
your part. I would expect the default choice would be that they would 
have the same instance id. You might prefer distinct instance IDs if you 
want them considered independent devices. For instance, if one is 
IM-only and the other is voice-only then you might want them treated 
independently. But if they have overlapping capabilities, then you may 
have to then suffer having them both "ring" for the same call, which 
could be annoying. (But you might be able to program them to hide that.)
