We want them to mean X, but other people interpret them to mean Y, and in reality they end up meaning Z. :) I used the term "Session-ID" because it was what I thought common operators of SIP deployments would expect it to be, because I think most people think of a Session as actually a superset of a Call-ID - the Call-ID could change 15 times along the path, but it's the same session. (in many ways a Call-ID is not a "Call" identifier at all!) But I grant that it confuses us with media "sessions".
