I agree.  However some of the workarounds are why a UAS does silly things like sending a modified SDP within 18x/2xx which must be ignored.  It allows a compliant UAC to ignore it while a non compliant UAC potentially treats it as an updated answer SDP (as a workaround for lack of support/use of 100rel, UPDATE, and/or forking) instead of sticking head in the sand until SIP's offer/answer rules allow for proper subsequent renegotiation.
