Body: ITU-T Study Group 21, Working Party 4 (WP4/21), Question 9 (Q9/21)
would like to inform you that ITU-T Q9/21 has created at its meeting in
Geneva, 6-17 July 2026, the new work item ITU-T H.CVR-MP “Functional
requirements for cloud virtual reality systems supporting multi-path
transmission”. It aims to specify functional requirements for cloud virtual
reality systems supporting multi-path transmission. The scope of this draft
new Recommendation includes:

   –    Overview;

   – Service data processing requirements for cloud virtual reality
systems supporting multi-path transmission;

   – Network capability docking requirements for cloud virtual reality
systems supporting multi-path transmission;

   – Cooperation and management requirements for cloud virtual reality
systems supporting multi-path transmission.

This work focuses on achieving coordinated optimization of the network
layer, transport layer, and application layer capabilities to overcome the
transmission bottlenecks and ensure a high‑quality, smooth, and reliable
cloud virtual reality user experience.

ITU-T SG21 kindly asks you to share with us any relevant work, if you have
in these matters. ITU-T SG21 looks forward to keeping continued
collaboration with your organization about multimedia and digital services
standardization.
