URLREG WG - Where we stand now

Hi all -

   From the chairs' view, here is where we think the URLREG working group
stands:

   Guidelines document:  Currently the document is in WG last call with one
set of issues and resulting discussions posted to the list.  (The last call
period ends on Monday 1/19/98.)  Some turbulence in the URI/URL syntax
document discussions may impact some of the wording in our guidelines
document.  Yet to be seen.

   Procedures document:  Not out yet but it's the next work item for the
WG.

   Meeting in LA:  Even though the feeling in DC was that we should aim to
conclude before LA, the chairs think we will miss this.  Further, the
chairs feel we will need to meet in LA.
