I did ask IANA about this a few years ago and at that time they did not 
have plans to host repositories for expert review teams.

Although they did not explain it this way, I imagine that the model you 
mention could be confusing for registrants because, officially, expert 
review teams do not operate under the umbrella of IANA - we operate 
independently under the purview of the IETF and then make requests of 
IANA. So it seems to me that the IETF org at GitHub would be a more 
logical location.
