Hi John,

There are many deployments choices for NAT64 and DNS64. I=E2=80=99ve depict=
ed them in https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/rfc8683/.

Basically, yes both the DNS64 and the NAT64 should be able to be reachable =
from the IPv6-only network and (typically) in a different interface to the =
IPv4-only.

The one you=E2=80=99re suggesting is very close to the one I=E2=80=99ve pre=
pared, however Med suggested avoiding such changes as it was well understoo=
d in the original RFC6146:

line segments from Figure 1, it<br>doesn't help since all of the same issue=
s remain. Rather than<br>trying to tweak it, the authors could start over o=
n a piece of<br>paper with a sketch of the actual topology, then transcribe=
