The launch of the magnificent union of digitally downloading artists

Peter Gabriel and Brian Eno are going to launch a new Union for musicians who 
offer their work for download digitally. The BBC article is a bit vague on 
the most critical points, e.g.:

"Managing digital rights, Gabriel said, would require some encryption to 
ensure a revenue stream, but ultimately the record industry would have to 
give the consumer what he wants."

Since Gabriel also runs a service offering MP3s, does anyone have any thoughts 
on what this new Union, MUDDA, will say about DRM issues? It would seem 
worthwhile to talk to them when they're formed to try and ensure they don't 
encourage use of "bad" technologies and maybe even to publicly campaign 
alongside groups like the UKCDR on some issues.
