Bill Gates to get a knighthood?

It appears everyone's favouritre monopolist, Bill Gates, might be getting a knighthood: <http://www.cabalamat.org/weblog/art_210.html> While it could be argued that this doesn't matter, because a knighthood is merely a symbolic title, I feel it is important because people will tend to think of Gates in an undeservedly good light, and will tend to forget that he's made it his life work to prevent freedom when using computers, for example by: - developing DRM - developing Palladium, a way of making sure your computer won't do what you want it to, but will do what corporations want instead - using patents to attempt to prevent people writing compatible software competing with Microsoft - used vendor lock-in and other disreputable and illegal monopolistic practises -- Phil Hunt, zen19725-1HOZaDBbGgxaa/[email protected]
