Includes link to an article describing a tax-credit scheme for
supporting creative workers - effectively, subsidising them out of taxes
with the tax-payers getting to decide which of them get the money.  Each
tax-payer can divert up to $100 (or some kindred figure) to creative
workers (registered with a govt agency, much as charities are) from what
that tax-payer would otherwise have paid in taxes.

It's a cute scheme, check it out.
