It's worth saying that (at least the last time this idea
came up) the point of keeping record industry revenues at
their current levels is just to sweeten the deal enough
that they'll accept it. Later on, if the system is
well-enough designed, they can be allowed to wither on the
vine.

Do you think you'd download music if it were freely
available and legal to do so?
