I doubt they'd even go to that length - I'd guess it was ogg vorbis.
If they encode the audio with vorbis, convert it back to PCM and burnt that,
then, when people rip the audio and mp3 encode it, they lose two lots of
data from the sound - which IME is quite noticable.
