The BPI here has said that litigation over people copying
material for `media shifting' is unlikely. This is a crock
of shit, of course: firstly, they don't control what their
members do; secondly, even if it isn't convenient now,
who's to say that they won't go off and sue somebody
later, if it's convenient to do so; and thirdly, it neatly
diverts discussion from whether we should have decent fair
use rights to what colour iPod we should buy.
