Copy Protection Summary
The protection of pre-recorded fixed media, such as DVD and CD, is
now at an advanced stage. There are many different specifications

subsequently exchanged on the Internet via illegal file sharing
services [!!!!]

With CD audio content, the situation is slightly different. [...]
Today conventional CD protection is offered by several different
proprietary technologies from vendors Macrovision and Sony that are
proving both effective and popular with content owners.
