Clearly it's time to make a case for the public domain. On a side note I've been told that the move from fifty years beyond death to seventy years beyond death for literary copyright was something introduced as a temporary measure in Germany to cope with the Nazi regime issue (people lost many of their rights for the twelve eyars it was in power and it took some time to regain them. This was then picked up as a goal for harmonization at WIPO. I just picked up a copy of Lessig's latest book, Free Culture, which is all about this issue. Recommended, as are all of his books, but this one is particularly nice for the freaky cover. -- *E-mail*a.a.adams-SsMor1Oo1JZaa/[email protected]******** Dr Andrew A Adams **snail*23 Ivydene Road************ School of Systems Engineering ***mail*Reading RG30 1HT, UK******* The University of Reading ****Tel*+44-118-956-0607*********** Reading, United Kingdom
