If  presidential candidate John Kerry were repeal the Digital Millennium 
Copyright Act and allow users to make back-up copies of software, would 
that have implications for music sold on CDs?  If digitally recorded 
music is treated as software that would allow for a back-up copy of the 
CD and, therefore, preclude the use of the corrupted CDs to prevent 
copying on computers.
