Re: Today on fines for using filesharing "websites"

The BPI cases started back last September and there was announcements of 
the first settlements in March. See post on DRN:

Much of this was discussed on the creative-friends list 
(http://lists.essential.org/mailman/listinfo/creative-friends) at the 
time and there was even a suggestion of doing a press-release to 
counteract the one-sided coverage (the Times front-page coverage was 
particularly bad) but it nothing was produced rapidly enough.

Of course file-sharing is not illegal but sharing large amounts of 
copyrighted material over the internet is.
