Hi Mike,

If the system allows you, I would recommend adjusting the wording of the
petition so that it gives your rationale for the petition.  As it stands
it just asks for a concession without any indication of why should be
granted.  If a band plans a gig in a pub (almost certainly with less
than 500 people), the law (IIUC) requires them (or the venue) to keep
track of any other folk's music they cover and pay suitable modest
(mechanical) dues to an appropriate collection agency: so the
non-virtual world's status quo does insist on applying copyright's
restrictions even when the audience is small.  It's worth giving our
elected representatives some reason to actually care about what the
petition asks for !

Is the choice of closing date merely "six months from when you posted
the petition" or did you actually deliberately chose that anniversary ?
