Hi, I am using acpid with asus extras on an asus laptop, I have configured a hotkey to launch my email (mozilla thunderbird) but have come up against what is, i am sure a basic scripting problem. When the event is captured, this script runs: /usr/local/MozillaFirebird/MozillaFirebird exit unfotunately launching this hogs acpid until the client is shutdown... tail /var/log/acpid shows: [Fri Oct 17 15:33:01 2003] received event "hotkey ATKD 00000052 00000006" [Fri Oct 17 15:33:01 2003] executing action "/etc/acpi/email.sh" [Fri Oct 17 15:33:01 2003] BEGIN HANDLER MESSAGES after the client is shutdown acpid carrys on. I guess what I need to know is how to launch thunderbird from a shell, and still being able to use the shell(?) any pointers would be great!
