I can't say.  Just try and you will see if the laptop is
going hot in 10 minutes or so...  BTW, what articles are you reading?
It is easy to get outdated informations.

Yes, but it still may be possible that the BIOS forgot to enable that
feature, though (or that you have a BIOS option to enable).
