Hello ACPI hackers,

I have a FSC Amilo-D8820 notebook (iPentium4 2.53GHz, 512MB)
and I have trouble with the S3 mode from linux 2.5.63 up to now trying
linux 2.6.0-test9 (including the newest ACPI patch (2 files patched)).

Using `echo 3 > /proc/acpi/sleep' works ok (so far as I can see).
My notebook goes into the sleep mode, with the "moon" light on.

But switching on the power again, the system fan comes up, the
"moon" light goes off, but the display light stays dark, and
sometimes the system may run in a loop, as the fan becomes
stronger - so the P4 is not in idle state.

Up to now, I had not enough time to go through the source
files (I only did that for the 2.4.x kernels to found out,
that it is not possible to use the S3 mode ....).

Are there any experiences on that systems, notebooks, etc
(I am new to the list ....).

Christoph P.
