[ACPI-sppt] Is about ACPI install on Dell Inspiron 8500, with Redhat 9

To whom may concern,

I have Dell Inspiron 8500 laptop, running with Redhat
9 and kernel is 2.4.20-20.9.

I download file acpi-20031002-2.4.22.diff.gz and to
install, but I get error message said.

Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?

Not sure if that reall work or not, also I dont know
what to put in of  File to patch: ???? 

I kind of feel that dont want to screw-up my laptop.
if all go fail. How do I unistall or something to get
rid of before get worst.
