Hello Oliver, Well, I just tried booting with my pre4 kernel with the acpi patch, and the line `append="devfs=mount hdc=ide-scsi nomce acpi=off"` in lilo, but it seems like no change at all. Still getting the same output in `lspci -xxxv`, and as for /proc/interrupts, no mention whatsoever of anything USB related: With acpi=off I get: CPU0 0: 47515 XT-PIC timer 1: 384 XT-PIC keyboard 2: 0 XT-PIC cascade 5: 0 XT-PIC O2 Micro, Inc. OZ6912 Cardbus Controller, ALi Audio Accelerator 8: 1 XT-PIC rtc 11: 26 XT-PIC eth0 12: 11984 XT-PIC PS/2 Mouse 14: 3645 XT-PIC ide0 15: 15 XT-PIC ide1 NMI: 0 ERR: 0 With it on (left out in lilo) I get: CPU0 0: 9368 XT-PIC timer 1: 116 XT-PIC keyboard 2: 0 XT-PIC cascade 5: 1 XT-PIC ALi Audio Accelerator 8: 1 XT-PIC rtc 9: 54 XT-PIC acpi 11: 18 XT-PIC O2 Micro, Inc. OZ6912 Cardbus Controller, eth0 12: 1418 XT-PIC PS/2 Mouse 14: 3204 XT-PIC ide0 15: 15 XT-PIC ide1 NMI: 0 ERR: 0 So yes, it does seem to make a change to this, but still I see no USB. This is with the successfully compiled pre4 kernel. As for the rc3, I can only get it to compile if I have no support for HotPlug, but this is neccissary I believe, so has little point. Does this help you in any way? Eagerly awaiting :P Greetings Ralph -- http://axljab.homelinux.org:8080/ "...the software said Win95 or better, so I installed Linux"
