I installed the kernel version 2.4.21-rc3, with the latest acpi patch.

/proc/acpi/info states:

version: 20030522
states: S0 S3 S4 S5

This is odd, since there probably should be a S1, since that's the only
one supported so far, right? Maybe this system is too new?

I get this at boot time:

ACPI-0286: *** Error: No installed handler for fixed event
[00000000]

And the rest of the kernel ACPI printout:

ACPI: RSDP (v000 PTLTD ) @ 0x000f5c60
