Hmmm. /lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/drivers/acpi debian:/lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/drivers/acpi# ls -l total 169 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 170718 Jun 3 17:22 acpi.o drwxr-xr-x 10 root root 1024 Jun 3 17:22 ospm debian:/lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/drivers/acpi# cd ospm/ debian:/lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/drivers/acpi/ospm# ls -l total 8 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Jun 3 17:22 ac_adapter drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Jun 3 17:22 battery drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Jun 3 17:22 busmgr drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Jun 3 17:22 button drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Jun 3 17:22 ec drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Jun 3 17:22 processor drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Jun 3 17:22 system drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Jun 3 17:22 thermal debian:/lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/drivers/acpi/ospm# cd thermal debian:/lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/drivers/acpi/ospm/thermal# ls -l total 10 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9719 Jun 3 17:22 ospm_thermal.o (etc) has all the ospm modules. But I'm currently running out of /lib/modules/2.4.20.030603d/kernel/drivers/acpi where the following are listed: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4188 Jun 3 23:57 ac.o -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9756 Jun 3 23:57 battery.o -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 5292 Jun 3 23:57 button.o -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3756 Jun 3 23:57 fan.o -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 14588 Jun 3 23:57 processor.o -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 11544 Jun 3 23:57 thermal.o -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6392 Jun 3 23:57 toshiba_acpi.o Which, of course, directly correspond to the .config file. > Here are the lines from my .config file: > # CONFIG_APM is not set > # ACPI Support > CONFIG_ACPI=y > CONFIG_ACPI_BOOT=y > CONFIG_ACPI_BUS=y > CONFIG_ACPI_INTERPRETER=y > CONFIG_ACPI_EC=y > CONFIG_ACPI_POWER=y > CONFIG_ACPI_PCI=y > CONFIG_ACPI_SLEEP=y > CONFIG_ACPI_SYSTEM=y > CONFIG_ACPI_AC=m > CONFIG_ACPI_BATTERY=m > CONFIG_ACPI_BUTTON=m > CONFIG_ACPI_FAN=m > CONFIG_ACPI_PROCESSOR=m > CONFIG_ACPI_THERMAL=m > CONFIG_ACPI_TOSHIBA=m > # CONFIG_ACPI_DEBUG is not set When I do make menuconfig it says that everything is "M" and that nothing is "*". I don't understand why these would be different. Nor do I understand why there are different names for the modules. If any one has any ideas about why these things are different I would really appreciate it! emma -- Emma Jane Hogbin [[ 416 417 2868 ][ www.xtrinsic.com ]] ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Etnus, makers of TotalView, The best thread debugger on the planet.
