Hello,

I've tried to get lastest ACPI rc3 patch, which hangs while
booting. If I apply that webpage DSDT table and over-20030109 patch to
use the dsdt table, everything but battery works. If I try to acpidump
my bios, I get 3 warnings and no error, using that hex it generated, I
get the same locking problem as the original ACPI patch. The pre6
version comented here to be working on compaq 2xxx notebook wont even
let my kernel compile.

Wondering if there is anything else I could try. I really need
battery status under linux.

	What've been trying is this:

	kernel 2.4.21
	the pre3 patch
and the over-20030109 patch (to use dsdt table)

I dident find a patch to use the dsdt table under rc3, anyone
got one ? If I try to use that over-20030109 under rc3, my modules wont
load after rebooting.

Anyone fixed the 'hanging' prob while problem ACPI irqs ?

Thanks

Fernando Jr

"Actually, I have a Presario 17xx laptop and followed the instructions
there: http://poli.cs.vsb.cz/linux/somrak-presario-1700/"

So you have a little mission to doit,
get from http://developer.intel.com/technology/iapc/acpi/downloads.htm
ACPI CA - Unix Build Environment (.tar.gz, 530K)

untar; cd acpica-unix-20030512/compiler; make

after

./iasl -d /proc/acpi/dsdt (had to do this as root, as dsdt was read
only for the root only)

then

./iasl -tc ./dsdt.dsl

I have found hints on how to fix warning 2026
(http://www.cpqlinux.com/acpi-howto.html#fix_broken_dsdt), but nothing
on the other two. Is it critical that they are fixed?

feel free to write me in português.
