There are a number of things in the kernel .config file that have to do with "APIC". Specifically: CONFIG_X86_GOOD_APIC=y # CONFIG_X86_UP_APIC is not set # CONFIG_X86_UP_IOAPIC is not set Do these have anything to do with ACPI? The most I could find in google was that a number of people have had problems with their computer locking up with CONFIG_X86_UP_APIC was set to Y. Here are a few of the sites I found: http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/linux/linux-kernel/2001-05/0695.html http://search.luky.org/linux-kernel.2001/msg00114.html http://hypermail.idiosynkrasia.net/linux-kernel/archived/2001/week44/0643.html http://hypermail.idiosynkrasia.net/linux-kernel/archived/2001/week44/0678.html thanks -- Emma Jane Hogbin [[ 416 417 2868 ][ www.xtrinsic.com ]] ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: INetU Attention Web Developers & Consultants: Become An INetU Hosting Partner.
