I've got a Sharp MV12W, and oddly, with 2.4.22-pre2, I get the same 
thing as you, but with 2.4.21 and the acpi.sf.net patches added, it 
worked fine.  Unfortunately, 2.4.21 doesn't work well with my wifi card.
