As I got no answers to my post, I downgraded to the old BIOS version,
and the machine boots up without problems. But I have no "/proc/acpi",
instead I have "/proc/ac_adapter", "/proc/battery", "/proc/button" etc.

The relevant .config part:
---
CONFIG_ACPI=yes
# CONFIG_ACPI_HT_ONLY is not set
CONFIG_ACPI_BOOT=y
CONFIG_ACPI_AC=y
CONFIG_ACPI_BATTERY=y
CONFIG_ACPI_BUTTON=y
CONFIG_ACPI_FAN=y
CONFIG_ACPI_PROCESSOR=y
CONFIG_ACPI_THERMAL=y
# CONFIG_ACPI_ASUS is not set
# CONFIG_ACPI_TOSHIBA is not set
CONFIG_ACPI_DEBUG=y
CONFIG_ACPI_BUS=y
CONFIG_ACPI_INTERPRETER=y
CONFIG_ACPI_EC=y
CONFIG_ACPI_POWER=y
CONFIG_ACPI_PCI=y
CONFIG_ACPI_y
# CONFIG_APM is not set
---

And here what seems relevant from dmesg:
---

I'm still interested in helping to track this problem down. If anybody
tells me, which information could be useful and how to gather them
without ACPI, if it is something like DSDT tables or so.
