Ok, your dmesg looks perfectly fine to me. So, when you "modprobe" your acpi modules, as far as I got it, there's no error, either, is that true? I can't see that from the part of the dmesg you sent me.

Once the modules are loaded, you should find a number of files in /proc/acpi that allow you to figure out and change the state of your ACPI capable system components.

Try the "acpi" utility to see what it tells you about the state of your system or take a look at some of the files in the subdirectories of /proc/acpi.

Report back to the list if there are any errors, but PLEASE, be a bit more specific about what's actually happening next time, i.e. what you see, what you'd expect to see and what you'd like to see...
