Ok, I guess that's just another symptom of the same problem.

PLEASE! If you want to support us in helping you to solve your problem,

1) start your system with an ACPI enabled kernel
2) load all of the available ACPI modules, e.g. using modprobe for each of them.
3) run dmesg to see if there are any ACPI related errors
4) if so, send your dmesg output to the mailing list after having gone through steps 5-7
5) check the files in the /proc/acpi/* subdirectories to see if they seem to provide useful/correct information
6) if not, make a list of empty/erroneous directories and files and send that to the list as well after having gone through step 7. It is perfectly normal, BTW, that some files directly in /proc/acpi are not readable (e.g. dsdt, event), so just ignore them for now.

7) do not forget to add some further information to your mail, including your system type (laptop? brand?), if you actually have any problems with your running system, what those problems are (more than one symptom per mail, if possible) and how to reproduce them - and anything else that you think might help us in understanding the problem and finding a solution.

8) Now send your mail

Good luck,
Stefan
