[ACPI-sppt] Turn ACPI fan control off (ASUS M2400N)

Hi all,

I am the almost happy owner of an ASUS M2400N

I have the previously mentioned problem with the fan turning on and off
at max-rpms all the time.

However, I have discovered that if i boot a linux distro that doesn't
support acpi (like the all-on-one-cd-distro at www.lnx-bbc.org) the fan
behaves perfect, turning on at low speeds and gradually increase the
rpm's as temperature rises. This makes the laptop very silent.

So - my idea was to make acpi stay out of the fan control and make the
bios handle that job.

Is this possible ??

Can a DSDT like the one posted in the acpi4linux homepage be modified to
control the fan rpm's ? - if yes - how ??
