Mandrake kernels have both APM and ACPI compiled in and this fact seems to mess up the whole thing, that's why they set acpi off by default. I managed to fix this issue upgrading the kernel to 2.4.21-0.18mdk (got it from mandrake upgrade) and compiling it without APM and APIC (this seems to cause the boot process to freeze at "using PCI cofiguration 1", or something like that). Mandrake kernel already have the ACPI patch applied, so don't patch it, just start compiling. -- Email.it, the professional e-mail, gratis per te: http://www.email.it/f Sponsor: Al Garden Center Peraga sta per prendere forma un evento straordinario: il labirinto delle pannocchie.
